New degree opportunity:
Fayetteville Technical Community College has a new Collision Repair and Refinishing Program. Students will follow one of three tracks: estimator, non-structural technician, or refinish technician. Core curriculum reinforces necessary on-the-job skills: humanities courses reinforce customer service and leadership skills; math classes focus on measurement systems and recording, manipulating and analyzing data; English classes teach written and verbal communication skills to support standard industry reports and customer interaction.
The two-year program will train students in non-structural cosmetic repairs, steel and aluminum structural repair and the latest technologies in automobile refinishing. The curriculum also includes training in estimating and body shop operations with ongoing opportunities for hands-on practice with late model cars.
New classes begin every 8 weeks. Online classes can be taken prior to beginning on-site classes, providing added flexibility for today’s student work/life demands.
